Things We Believe In
are some of our favourite places on the Internet and also in the real world.
us with your suggestions.
- the website of our friends across the water. Cab Williamson lives!
- a fine gentleman who deserves better than a mere MySpace page
Williamson's Waxworks - the site of one of Britain's most deservedly
obscure bands. They didn't last.
Derbyshire - a woman whose genius is still not recognised. Some
staggeringly beautiful music on here.
- tribute site for the BBC Radiophonic Workshop whom we deeply loved.
- sadly they are no more and their once magnificent website is now a mere
shadow. We still love them though.
Records - don't you just love
Wiring Club - if my life were to flash before my ears, it would
probably sound like this.
Sea Apes - I'm
friends with the bass player. #shamelessnamedropping
Cornerhouse - the best place in
Art Café - the
real hidden gem in Manchester.
- best burgers in Manchester.
Baths - the best building in Manchester.
Rhaeadr - cool waterfall in the middle of Wales. There's a St.
Bernard who hangs around the car park with a goat.
Yeti Café - best
café in Kitchener, Canada. And I've not even been there yet.
We Believe In
Economy - tracking the impact of the British "Coalition"
Government's cuts to public services.
- champions of human rights, not the
makers of bodices...
Squared - helping you live well in the modern world
Humanist - excellent and often highly entertaining magazine of the
of the Earth
on Elder Abuse
Manchester Poverty Action Group
Believe in the BBC - a campaign to safeguard public service broadcasting which we're proud to
Eye - an introduction to a wonderful British TV series which is
largely forgotten these days, despite starring the magnificent Alfred Burke
(RIP February 2011)
Audio Engine - this is a very
simple but wonderful and FREE recording workstation. The sort of thing we
never dared dream of when we were fifteen.
DVD - they
release all kinds of old British TV shows just for the sheer love of it.
They cost me a fortune.
