Fact x Importance = News

December 2019

New release(s)
The end of another year and another decade. Time is passing. So we present Hans Allein with a four-part triptych Symptome von Zeitdruck. Something about isolation, anxiety and swirling arpeggiators. Click here to listen.

ICYMI we also released a YouTube exclusive in October: Saxifrage by Shadow Moss. Click here to watch and listen.

Is it really EIGHT YEARS since we last heard from Oh Joyous Diner? They're back with three more tracks of cheery bedroom electronica under the title Living Without Intention.

Stereolab
Went to see them. Very very happy about that.

February 2019

New release
Soundtrack specialists Karswell return with selections of music from the soundtrack of the online game Pistolero!. Think cowboys, racketeers, spectral landscapes and betrayal by the shades of unworthy law enforcers. Click here to listen.

Merch
We've opened a store on Redbubble. If you like our artwork and wish to display it in your home or wear it as clothing, that's what this is. The store is not really about making money or selling useless tat. We like them because they've taken some care to be ethically and sustainably sourced. And we just found the idea of official Oh Joyous Diner leggings amusing.

January 2019

Happy New Year
A happy new year to you if you're celebrating one right now. 2018 was not a good one. 2019 will be.

New release
We started the year with a premiere on YouTube of a new piece by Polaraíocht. As before, they combine field recordings, binaural beats and wisps of melody to create an hour-long soundscape to aid relaxation.

You can watch the video or just listen to the music on their page click here.

Or spend a little time on our YouTube channel.

December 2018

New release
Acid Wilhelm ends the year with Namalsadirah. On August 15, 1977, the Big Ear radio telescope at Ohio State University registered a narrowband radio signal apparently coming from the constellation Sagittarius

November 2018

New release
Pete Nitrous (with a typically frenetic contribution from David Loophead) presents Damage. Spiritual anguish, inner torment and horror at the evil that men do. Like all the best pop.

YouTube
You might have noticed a growing collection of specially commissioned videos on our YouTube channel including an exclusive Hans Allein track Liminalis.

Learn to Swim on YouTube.

April 2018

We're back
A completely new website. Rebuilt from scratch. (Twice)

New releases
Attentive types may have noticed we quietly put out some releases late last year and early this year.

News 2017

There was no news in 2017.
Well, none that we wish to think about.

March 2016

New release: 2016 seems determined to be a fucking awful year. We hope you and those you care about are OK. While our scattergun musical noodlings are unlikely change the world for the better (we have another project for that), perhaps they can take your mind off it for a bit. Being free it comes with our good wishes, nothing more. So please welcome new entrant Hans Allein. We're not sure what to make of him at the moment. Synths yes of course (are we getting predictable here?) but there are some hints at more funky influences in there too.
Click to listen.

Things we've been listening to lately: early Stevie Wonder, the new Tindersticks album, Purcell string fantasias, Harmonia, The Lafayette Afro Rock Band. And Bowie of course. But not Blackstar. Not yet.

January 2016

We would like to wish you a happy new year but this update is being posted mere hours after the death of David Bowie was announced. There are lots of words flying around the world about him and it seems vain to add more. Let us simply say that his work (music and ideas) wrote itself into our DNA. We agree wholeheartedly with Jarvis Cocker's take on it: for all our feelings of loss, we're happy that he was able to turn his own death into another daring, dazzling exploration of words, sounds and images. We still cried, of course.

New release
We welcome another new artist Polaraíocht into the fold. Using simple musical phrases, a range of location recordings and binaural beats, Animis Opibusque Parati (there are various translations but we like "prepared in mind and resources") is an hour-long piece designed to aid meditation and relaxation. Click to listen.

Hank
If you're in the mood for something more lively don't forget to check out the new album Showers of Happiness from our Canadian friends Hank.
